One more month.
Snow tomorrow. 50’s by the end of the week.
Barack Obama, President of …err “Community Organizer” in, the United States was asked some pretty tough questions by Zach Galifianakis on his hard-hitting, rapid fire chat show Between Two Ferns. After a few pleasantries and shared thoughts on The Hangover and Bradley Cooper, the conversation turned to the President’s Affordable Care Act.
The key take away fact, however, is that Americans under the age of 35 account for less than 25% of all new enrollments. With fewer than three weeks remaining to enroll without paying a penalty, you gotta act quickly.
Hey, I’m in that group of people and I arrived at the startling realization (after a doc visit & antibiotics for a sinus infection) that health insurance might be handy. President Obama makes reference to the cost of healthcare being equivalent to the cost of a monthly cell phone bill which is, personally, an accurate comparison.
It kinda sucks having to scale back on my trips to record stores, to reconsider a trip to New York for the Allman Brothers' final residency at The Beacon Theatre this month, and to eat at home more often than I typically do. Without health insurance, shaking my sinus infection would’ve cost around $230 ($189 for doc; $49 for antibiotics) instead of $20 ($20 for doc; no co-pay for antibiotics).

Earlier this week, Pitchfork Media reported Chipotle’s lawsuit against Frank Ocean. Well, they’re getting their money back…with a note.
Fiona Apple stepped in to record “Pure Imagination" for Chipotle’s (bizarre) free app called The Scarecrow. Hear it, along with watching the (really bizarre) accompanying vid on Chipotle’s YouTube channel.
This is a pic of a Frito Pie and the only acceptable way in which to eat one. To all who are headed to sxsw2014, don’t leave Austin before you’ve enjoyed a Frito Pie, some brisket, and a pulled pork sandwich from Mann’s BBQ.
